Registration Opportunities

Hi there!

Fall is right around the corner & the dance season is about to start!! How exciting?!

Have you had a chance to register yet? If not, no worries! We have multiple ways for you to register this year including online. Yep, you read that right…you can now register online!! Each customer will have their own customer portal where you can register, view the schedule, and check on your balance. It’s quick and easy!! All you need to do is copy the link below, paste it in your browser & press enter. You will be directed to the customer portal where you will enter the email that we have on file & choose Forgot My Password. The portal will send an email to you so that you can re-set your password and then you are set. All classes that your child is in the age range to attend will show up so that you can easily choose. If you are interested in a class but the age range isn’t right for you, please let us know. Before the class starts, you will need to sign the policy form & make payment in the dance shop. If you have any issues at all, please let us know!!

The second way to register is to come to our open house! September 8th from 4-6pm, please come meet your teachers, tour the studio, grab a snow cone & have some fun!! If you would rather register in person, this is your chance to do it ahead of classes starting. 🙂 We still recommend that you get your customer portal set up so that you can have access to your account throughout the year.

Everyone is encouraged & invited to come have fun at the open house so if you register online, please stop by anyway!!

Classes start September 11th!!

Thank you,

New Workshop Series Class!

Taught by guest artist, Bruno Augusto

$90.00 for the full 8 week session.
January 24th -March 14th

TĂ©cnica de la danza moderna Cubana
Also known as
Afro-Cuban Modern Dance Technique

Created by world renown Ramiro Guerra Suarez, this dance technique is meant to train/make the dancer. Elements from Classical Ballet, and North American dance techniques such as Graham, LimĂłn, Humphrey, and Horton are the basis. This technique also incorporates elements from Flamenco, African dances, and Cuban Folklore, all creating a unique melange. Executed to African rhythms and sometimes chanting, it emphasizes tempo, phrasing and syncopation to maximize its performative aspect. Spacial awareness is a permanent requirement, while the focus of the dancer must remain in him or herself.

Bruno is the Co-Founding Director of Arts & Above. As an art maker, performer, and educator, his body of work consists primarily of dance, music, poetry, and film. Bruno’s works have been presented in the Washington DC metro area, New York City, and the bay area of San Francisco. Internationally his works have been presented in Cuba, Portugal, Germany, Angola, and Algeria. He has been a professional dancer for 21 years; performing in Cuba, Angola, and throughout the United States, while touring Africa and Europe. His formal training includes classical Ballet, modern dance, and contemporary movement techniques as well as acting and music composition. Mr. Augusto holds a diploma from the National School of the Arts in Havana, Cuba, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Towson University in dance performance and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in dance performance and choreography.
