October Happenings

Hello On Center Families!

HOMECOMING
Thanks so much for to all of you that participated in the UM Homecoming parade. It was a SUPER success! We feel that this was our largest turnout thus far & we were so overwhelmed by the support of the parents/siblings/other family members! It was a long parade but our students danced the entire route without a complaint…they were AWESOME!If you wanted to purchase a parade shirt but we ran out of your size, please let us know. If we get enough interest that we reach our minimum of 12, I will order more! Just let Carley or Josie in the dance shop know your size & they will add you to the list.

COSTUME PAYMENTS
Just a reminder that we have begun accepting costume payments in the shop. You can break your total into three installments – October, November & December. This is super helpful for those in multiple classes! The Costume Fee Deadline is DECEMBER 14TH. We will have to charge a late fee of $20/costume after that day. As always, costumes are optional but strongly encouraged. We will have all costumes posted on the large bulletin board through November.

WOW WEEK
WOW week is next week!! We are mixing things up a little this year. Students can earn WOW cards any time through the month for things like: good attitude, work ethic, manners, new skills, etc. They are meant to encourage good behavior, enthusiasm & progress!
We will put a WOW wall up every 3rd week of the month & we hope they will bring their cards for some awesome selfies!!
They should keep all of their cards so they can redeem them at the end of the year during the Student Appreciation Day.

COSTUME PARTY WEEK
It seems crazy to say this but…costume party week is right around the corner! We will be celebrating Halloween in our classes from Thursday -October 25th through Wednesday – October 31st. (yes, we will have classes on Halloween night)
We encourage all to dress in costume although we ask that they can still move & will be comfortable.
We will have little ‘parties’ in each classroom the last 15 minutes of class. If you would like to bring treats, please be mindful of allergies & specifically don’t bring anything with nuts. 😉

THRILLER

Our next ALL STUDIO event is our mall performance of THRILLER!! October 31st – 6:30pm calltime & 7pm performance
We would love for all ages to participate! If interested, please attend both rehearsals: Friday – October 26th: 4:30-6:30pm & Saturday – October 27th: 10am-12pm.
Everyone dresses in their version of zombie attire! It’s always a great time!!

We hope you are staying warm & dry in this chilly fall weather! Bundle up & try to avoid that pesky flu.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Meagen

Homecoming Parade

Hey Everyone!!

This week is PARADE WEEK!! Every year, we are invited to dance in the parade to represent our studio. We invite EVERY student to dance with us on Saturday October 6th at 9:30am.  All classes will be learning the parade dance in class this week. Then we will have a practice at Kiwanis Park on Friday October 5th 4:30-5pm, so we can practice it walking forward as we will in the parade.

Saturday we will meet at our meeting spot (which we still don’t know yet) at 9:30am. Parade starts at 10am.  We ask that you pick up your kiddos at 10:30am at University and Helen. Please make sure to be there when WE end, not when the whole parade is over.  We will not leave any child unattended, so please be sure to be there or arrange a ride for them.

We have long sleeved On Center T-shirts in the dance shop for sale this week. If you don’t want to purchase one, please wear our colors, black, red, or white!

The theme this year is ‘Montana Strong’, and since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we have chosen to dance for all the strong breast cancer fighters out there. Everyone that dances with us will wear the pink beaded necklaces we provide to them to honor anyone who has had to deal with breast cancer.

All family members are welcome to walk with us as well. We have signs that you can hold, candy to pass out, or if you just want to walk in the back, you can do that. The more the merrier.  This is such a fun opportunity we are given, so we hope you all take advantage of it!

Let us know if you have any questions! We will let you know what number we are in the parade as soon as we find out!

The Fall Semester is Getting Near!

Hello Everyone!

We hope you are enjoying your summer as it creeps to a close, and you are getting ready to come back to class here at On Center! We are so excited here and are gearing up for our Open House on September 7th 4pm-6pm! This is the perfect time to stop by the studio to finish any registration procedures, get any shoes, tights or leotards you may need, as well as find out who your teacher is for the year! We will post all teachers for each class and you have to come to the studio if you want to find out! There will be cake and the teachers will be here to celebrate, so make sure to write this on your calendars!

Classes will start the following Monday on September 10th! Remember, if you plan on waiting until your child’s first day of class to finish registration, or purchase anything in the dance shop, it will be very chaotic. If you would like to avoid the chaos, we are open Monday through Thursday 12-5 from now until September 6th for you to come in and get all those things done, or come to the Open House and do it then!

Our NEW 2018-2019 Company will be performing tomorrow August 24th at Caras Park at 2pm for the Family Fun Fest if you would like to come support them! This is their first local performance so they would love to have their friends cheering them on and supporting them! You can also come visit us at our booth under the pavilion. We will be there Friday 12-5 and Saturday 10-3.

As always, let us know if you have questions and please don’t forget to finish your registration if you registered online!

Thank you,
On Center Performing Arts

If you would like to register for next years classes and get first pick on time and days before we open registration up to the public, please join us on April 13th!  Not only that, but prices are changing next year if you are taking multiple classes, so be sure to be there to lock in this years tuition prices!

All you need to do is the following:

• Register ONLINE at oncenter.biz on April 13th.

• Come to the studio anytime between 4pm-6pm April 13th to finish your registration. (If you don’t come to the studio, your spot in the class will not be held, and you will not receive this years tuition prices if it goes up for you).

If you are interested in Company this year, remember to sign up for ballet, music, and acting class (all 3 are required).  If you need to change things around later, you can, but it is safer to sign up for the classes before they get full! You may think it’s too early to register for the next year, but classes do fill up fast!

The Company kids will be taking classes at this time as well, so that you can have an idea of what a typical Friday on Performance Company is like.  You will be able to watch from the dance shop or the ballet studio. 🙂

Teachers will be there to talk to if you have any questions, and there will also be a special treat!!  We hope to see you on Friday!

Thank you,

Recital Picture Week!!!

Recital Picture Week!!!

It is one of the funnest weeks of the year and the kiddos finally get to wear their costumes! It is the week of April 30th – May 4th and instead of regular classes that week, students will come in their recital costumes with their hair and makeup (optional) done.   We will have a schedule of when their photos will be taken, but it should be close to their regular time they are scheduled to be here for that class. They will have a group photo taken, and an individual.

If you do not pay for pictures, you do not get your picture taken, so you don’t have to come to class that week and you can schedule a makeup lesson through the office. If you ordered a costume late, and it has not arrived by this time, you can ask to borrow a fellow classmates costume just for pictures and you can be photo shopped into the group photo! If you didn’t order a costume, but want pictures, please try and match the costume as best as you can!

You can either get a CD of the photos, or you can get the digital file emailed to you where you can download your pictures. You will specify which one you want when you pay.

Prices are as follows, and CASH ONLY. You can pay in the dance shop anytime, or pay the day of pictures:

One class: $35

Two classes: $60

Three classes: $80

Four + classes: $100

T-SHIRTS: If you would like a recital T-shirt, you can place your order the day they get their picture taken. Recital T-shirts are $10 and will be here before recital week!

As always, let us know if you have questions!

Pre-Registration is April 13th

Happy Friday Everyone!

Spring is here and that means Fall is just around the corner! That’s why we have our annual Pre-Reg event on April 13th  to help you prepare for that!  Pre-Reg gives you the opportunity to register for the ’18-’19 season before it opens to the public! This gives you first pick of classes you want, as well as the day/time you want them! Not only that, but if you register online on April 13th, and then come to the studio between the hours of 4pm-6pm, you will receive ’17-’18 TUITION PRICES!!!  PRICES ARE GOING UP THIS YEAR! In order to get ’17-’18 tuition prices you must register ONLINE for the class you want on APRIL 13TH.

Then, you need to come to the studio on APRIL 13TH between the hours of 4pm-6pm to sign your policy form, and set up your payment plan for the next year. If you want to do monthly installments, you will need to bring a voided check. We cannot use this year’s check.  If you do not come to the studio to finish the registration, you will not receive the discounted rate.  If you can’t make it on April 13th, you can sign up anytime after that, you just won’t receive the discount.

Tuition prices for the ’18-’19 season, per month, are as follows:

45 minute class: $45

1 class: $60

2 classes: $102

3 classes: $144

4 classes: $186

5 classes: $228

6 classes: $270

7 classes: $312

8 classes: $354

9 classes: $396

10 classes: $438

Recommendations for each student have been sent home and should be arriving in the mail soon. These are from each teacher recommending what class they think each student should take for the next year. This should help guide you in the right direction for what class to enroll them in. There is also a schedule for the ’18-’19 season for you to pick your classes. Feel free to email us about any questions.

Also, there is a slip of paper that will come along with the recommendations with pre-reg information on it. It should say 1., 2., 3., but some of them may say 4., 5., 6., or 7., 8., 9.  That is a typo, so rest assured you are not missing other number. We are very sorry we didn’t catch that before they were mailed out.

Enjoy your break!
