Bring A Friend Week

Hello Parents!

Next week January 15th-19th is Bring a Friend Week!! Students get to invite a friend to come take their class with them and experience all the fun the performing arts has to offer…for FREE!!  All they need to do is give the liability waiver to their friend and have their parents sign it. They will then give it to the teacher of the class they are attending!  If they don’t have the signed waiver form, they will not be allowed to take the class.  Please see us at the office if you need another waiver.

Let us know if you have any questions! We are so excited for next week and we hope to see a lot of new faces around!

Spring Semester

Hello families!

We hope you enjoyed your holidays over winter break, and that you are all rested and ready to jump back into classes!  Remember, they start next week January 8th!  If you paid fall tuition in full, it is assumed you would like to pay for Spring in full, so get that in before January 15th.  If you paid in full for fall, but would like to switch to the automatic installments for spring, please bring us a voided check before January 10th.  If you are new with us and registered online, please come into the dance shop and finish your registration.  If you are not continuing in the spring semester, PLEASE LET US KNOW. Also, just a reminder that our policy states that if you drop before the 7th of the month, you are still charged for that month, and if you drop after the 7th of the month, you are charged that month AND the next.

Bring a Friend Week is the 15th-19th! This is a week for the students to invite a friend to come take class with them! It is loads of fun, and a great opportunity for others to enjoy the performing arts! We will send home notes about it next week to remind you!

As always, let us know if you have any questions!

See you all next week,

OCPA

December Info

Hello, and Happy Monday!

We hope you are all enjoying the days leading up to the holiday! We would just like to note that this Friday, December 15th 6:30-8:30pm is the Studio Christmas Party!  This is a fundraiser for our company girls to get to their competition and workshops in the spring.  There will be hot coco, cookies, activities, performances, and of course…a Monte Santa! It is $5/person or $20/family of 4+.  If you would like to take advantage of our drop off service, it is $10/child age 7 or older. This means you can drop your child off and go spend the evening however you please!  PLEASE BRING CASH OR CHECK ONLY! Kids are welcome to bring friends, and all families are welcome!  We hope you all take advantage of this fun evening!

If you are wanting a costume for the end of the year recital in June, then the payments are due December 15th.  If you pay after that deadline, the cost will be an extra $20 for shipping/rush fees.  If you have not approved the size of your child’s costume, please meet with their instructor after class this week and approve that. The costumes are no longer posted on the bulletin board, so if you would like to see them, ask the dance shop to show you. We will be ordering them over the winter break and they will start arriving around April. Recital week is June 11th-15th (your child performs on whatever night of the week they have class. For example, Monday classes will perform on Monday June 11th, Tuesday classes June 12th, etc.).

Our winter break will be December 22nd through January 7th.  Classes will resume MONDAY JANUARY 8TH. Let us point out that you are enrolled for the whole year unless you tell us otherwise.  If you aren’t continuing through Spring, please let the office know via email or phone call. Monthly installments will continue being pulled through June and if you paid for the fall semester in full, please have your spring tuition payment in by January 15th.

Thank you all so very much!  We can’t believe the fall semester is already coming to an end! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our studio!  Hope to see you all Friday!

Adult Classes 2018

Hey Parents!

I know Spring semester is quite a ways away, but we wanted to give you a heads up on the fun ADULT classes that are going to be happening!

ADULT BEGINNING HIP HOP/JAZZ: This class will be very basic, so if you have never danced before, you will be fine!  It will be a mix of hip hop and jazz taught by Mica (our hip hop teacher who also did this semester’s adult Hip Hop). Whether you come to improve your dance moves, have fun with friends, or just to get some cardio, it will be a blast!  It will be Mondays 7-8 February 5th-March 6th, and will be $80 for the full six weeks.

ADULT DANCE FITNESS: This is going to be a super fun class, and great for taking right after the holidays! The class will be a mixture of cardio based dance moves (similar to zumba or oula), and body weight-bearing exercises targeting all muscle groups. This class will be taught by our manager and instructor, Josie, and will happen Wednesdays 7-8 from February 7th – March 14th with the cost being $70 for the six weeks.

There will be a 10% discount for anyone who signs up before 2018!! (That feels crazy to be saying 2018 already)!  You can register for these online today under Spring 17-18 and pay in the dance shop!

Thanks everyone!

November Reminders

Happy Monday OCPA Families!!

Here are just a few things to remember as we head into November!

*Costume payments are due December 15th if you would like a costume for the end of the year recital in June.  If you decide you want a costume after December 15th, then there will be an additional $20 late/rush fee added to your costume payment total.  We will have pictures of each class’s costumes on the bulletin boards next week.  If you do not purchase a costume, please be prepared to match the one chosen as much as possible for the recital. You can pay for these in the dance shop.

*Costume Measuring Week is next week the 13th-17th. All students will be measured at the beginning of class by their teacher. Even if they are not getting a costume, they will still get measured.

*WOW Week is the 13th-17th.

*Our Performing Company will be performing at Southgate Mall for Bringing in Santa on November 15th!!!  They will perform at 6pm at the clock tower if you want to come support them!

*There will be NO CLASSES on November 20th-24th for our Holiday break.  Have fun and be safe!

*Please remember that there is no need for parents to come into a class that is in progress.  It is very disruptive and disrespectful to the teacher.  If you have grandparents bringing your children, please remind them of this policy.

***NEW THIS YEAR: We will be having a studio Christmas party on December 15th from 6:30-8:30pm.  This is an awesome idea our company kids came up with for a fundraiser!  It will be $5/person, or $20/family of 4 or more.  If you would like to drop off your child and go get some holiday shopping done, it is $10/kid!  There will be cookies and hot chocolate, an ugly sweater contest, pictures with Santa, arts and crafts, and a fun Christmas performance by the Company members!  All family AND friends are invited! It’s going to be a very festive night full of fun!

*If you paid in full for the Fall semester, your payment for the Spring semester will be due January 15th. If you don’t want to pay for Spring in full, please bring a voided check to the dance shop before January and we can switch you to monthly installments.

As always, let us know if you have any questions,

October Events!

The end of October is upon us!!  We can’t believe how time flies!  Here are a few things to remember in these last couple weeks:

HALLOWEEN WEEK: Starts this WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 25TH (not today).  Students can wear their costumes to class on the 25th, 26th, 30th, and 31st. That is Wednesday and Thursday of this week, and Monday and Tuesday of next week.  Make sure they can move in them because they will be having a normal class.  The last 10-15 minutes they will get to share their treats if they choose to bring some.  Just be aware of the class allergies.  Kids were sent home with papers that informed everyone of those if there is any.

THRILLER: We will be performing Thriller at Southgate Mall on Halloween night.  This year, we are inviting ALL students to participate if they would like to. We will have two mandatory rehearsals: Friday October 27th 4:30-6:30, and Saturday the 28th 10am-11:30am (possibly ending earlier). Students must be at both rehearsals in order to participate in the performance on Tuesday.  They will need to be at the JC Penny court at 6:30pm on the 31st and we will perform at 7pm.  The dance is only about 4 minutes long, so you will be done before 7:30. Come dressed as your scariest zombie (but make sure you can still dance).

If you have any questions, please let us know and we would be happy to help!  We love this time of year and want everyone to be involved!!

Have a ‘BOO’-tiful Day,
On Center Performing Arts
