April Happenings

Hi everyone! Welcome Spring…I mean, Hi Again, Winter.  Hahahaha!  At least we know that we are through Fool’s Spring & almost through Second Winter.  Then we only have one more Winter before official Spring.  YAY!! 😉

EMAILS
We have discovered that quite a few families weren’t getting our emails.  In the new software, if you checked ‘unsubscribe to email blasts’ then you weren’t getting all of the important info.  Hopefully we have fixed the problem.  Let me know if you would like to get all of the emails that were sent in previous months.  

RECOMMENDATIONS
You will be seeing recommendations arrive in the mail in the next week or so.  These are always so exciting for the kids!  Many aspects are taken into consideration when teachers decide on placement: abilities, attendance, attitude, focus, etc. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the recommendations for next fall. 

CLASS LEVELS
We will be changing our class levels next year.  We have found that the current description of levels is confusing so we will be changing to a number system.  The current levels & new levels are as follows:

Junior/Beginning = Level 1
Pre-Apprentice = Level 2
Apprentice = Level 3
Senior = Level 4 

COSTUMES
If your costume still hasn’t arrived & you are wanting to get pictures, please let me know.  I will be emailing classes so that we can figure out a borrow situation so you can still be a part of the photo week. 🙂  

RECITAL OPENING
We are planning to open our recital this year with a fun slide show & we need your help!  Because the theme is ‘Road Trip!’ we would love to collect as many road trip photos as possible.  Please send us pictures of your student &/or your family traveling.  It will be so fun to see your photo on the big screen!! RECITAL REMINDERS

  • Photos: Photo week is April 29th-May 3rd.  Please register online for your photo packet.  It’s an easy process through the parent portal. 🙂 The picture schedule will be sent out the week before but plan to be at the studio during your usual class time.  If you aren’t getting photos, you won’t have class that week. 
  • Tickets: Tickets will go on sale through TutuTix on May 1st at 12pm.  We tend to sell out so get your tickets before they are gone. 
  • Best Of:  Our Best Of Show will be on Saturday – June 22nd.  We will announce the Best Of Show lineup before tickets go on sale. 

MEMORIAL DAY
We WILL NOT have class on Memorial Day! 🙂  

FINALE
We are opening our finale performance up to any students 6yrs or older that want to participate!  It’s super fun!!  You will need to attend a rehearsal on Saturday – June 1st from 10am-12pm.  During recital week, you will perform your class number & then stay backstage until the finale performance.  You will wear the same costume that you have for your class performance.  We hope to see you at rehearsal! 

STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY
DATE CHANGE!! We are moving our annual Student Appreciation Day to June 8th.  We originally scheduled it on June 1st so make sure to change your calendars!  This year we will be having a ‘Sock Hop’ theme so start planning your costume now!  Poodle skirts, saddle shoes, leather jackets, OH MY!

‘19/‘20 Pre-Registration Announcement

There has been a change to our 2019 Fall / 2020 Spring registration process for this year. As many of you know, we offer a pre-registration option for our current students which allow them a discount on the following years tuition.

The first change is that we are moving away from the dates that were advertised on the annual brochure last fall. The second is that we usually turn this into a physical event at the studio, but are mixing it up this year!! Because we have gone digital, we are going to allow CURRENT families to register online for next years classes the week before recital.

When: June 13& 14th

Our Performance Company has been chosen to participate in the annual Missoula Lip Sync Battle on April 7th at the Dennison Theatre. Not only would we LOVE if you are able to come support us but MORE importantly, we would love your help in raising funds for Camp Mak-A-Dream. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

It’s finally sunny!  Woohoo!!  Fingers crossed this is the ‘out like a lamb’ part of this month. 

We try not to overwhelm you with emails but I have a couple of things to share…

NEWSLETTER
I have attached our March newsletter.  Please refer to it as a helpful reminder of important dates or fun things happening in and around the studio. 😉 ​

The Biz – March 2019

MARCH 18th – NEW STUDENT REGISTREATION CUT-OFF
Next Monday, we will no longer be accepting new students for the Spring Semester.  We will offer a couple of recreational classes for new students but they won’t be involved with the recital.  We have to make this adjustment because it’s close to impossible to order costumes at this point and it’s really hard on the teachers as they are deep into recital prep by now. 🙂  If you know someone interested in starting classed, please have them call the studio and we can answer any questions.

ATTENDANCE
Recital is right around the corner, believe it or not!  Our teachers are working really hard to create super fun performances so your little star can shine on stage.  With that being said, it is imperative that your student attend class so that they don’t fall behind in the recital number.  It’s really hard on the other students as well as the teacher if they are constantly having to re-teach their recital number each week.  If your student has missed or will miss three lessons in a row, we encourage you to schedule a private lesson to catch up on any missed material.  Thank you for understanding!!

MDAA – April 13th & 14th
The Spring MDAA Workshop is in Missoula this year!  Montana Dance Arts Association (M.D.A.A.) is a unique organization whose mission is to advance the art of dance for Montana students and educators by providing high quality  training opportunities and dance experiences.  If your child is interested in taking classes, please let us know.  The deadline for paperwork is next Friday the 22nd of March.  Any student 9yrs or older can participate!!  It’s an absolutely wonderful opportunity for all!  For more information, check out their website: http://www.montanadancearts.org

March Happenings

Hello families!! It’s the luckiest month of the year!  Let’s hope that we are fortunate enough to see some warmer weather by the end of it. 😉  We are gearing up for a really busy spring so please read this email thoroughly to get all of the details you need.  

COSTUMES

  • We have started handing out costumes! Yay!!  Please make sure that your students costume fits.  We order the size that you approve & sign off on but we realize that some growth spurts are unexpected.  If your child has majorly sprouted, we will TRY to exchange the costume.  You may be charged a re-stocking fee so please be aware. 🙂
  • If you haven’t ordered a costume yet or are a new student, PLEASE order one as soon as possible.  As of this month – MARCH – we can’t guarantee that we will be able to get your costume here in time for our recital.  Reminder that they are not required but if you don’t order one, we ask that you replicate the class costume as precisely as possible. 
  • Please keep your student’s costume out of reach until they perform in the recital.  We won’t be able to replace them as we get closer to June.

SPRING BREAK
Spring break is right around the corner!!  We will be closed the week of March 25th-29th.  We sure hope you are able to have some fun family time during this week. 🙂 

RECOMMENDATIONS 
Our lovely teachers are working really hard to write up recommendations for every student.  This is an assessment of the level that your student has reached throughout this year.  Recommendations help you decide what level and what genre is best for your student for the following year.  You will receive your recommendations as well as a Season 19-20 class list before Pre-Registration (more info below).  Please let us know if you have any questions.  

PRE-REGISTRATION

RECITAL PICTURE WEEK
Our recital picture week will be April 29th-May 3rd.  You will be able to purchase your packages through the parent portal this year! Yay!! Keep an eye out for more information. 🙂 

RECITAL TICKETS
Tickets for our recital will go on sale May 1st – 12pm.  We tend to sell out so mark your calendars!  We don’t want you to miss out on getting the amount of tickets you want.  All you have to do is:

1. Visit tututix.com;
2. Click Buy Tickets;
3. Scroll to Montana;
4. Click on On Center Performing Arts.  EASY PEASY! 

RECITAL REMINDERS
Our recital will be on these dates: June 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th at MCT.  Your child will perform in the show on the night that they normally dance.  If their class is on Monday, they perform on the 17th, etc.  There will be a tech rehearsal during the day of each show.  We are planning to have our ‘Best Of’ show on Saturday June 22nd.  We will have the Best Of numbers chosen before tickets go on sale.   I know this is A LOT!!

February Announcements and Newsletter

Hello On Center Families!

We hope you are staying warm in this freezing arctic air!  As much as we love winter, we are dreaming of those long MT summer days.

NEW CLASSES

We are having such success with our Baby Ballet classes that we opened a new one!  Yay!  Miss Meagen will be brushing up on her Baby Ballet & teaching all of the littles in the new Thursday 5:15pm class.  If you or someone you know is interested, please let us know!

Keep a lookout for our first round of Adult Workshops.  We are in the planning process but a 4 week adult tap workshop is on the horizon starting Tuesday – February 26th & running through March 19th.  If you are interested, please let the shop know & we will contact you as soon as the details are worked out.

COSTUMES

Costumes are arriving by the day! It may be a while before we receive all of them but we will begin handing them out as soon as entire classes are accounted for.  Please remind your student that these should be kept at the back of the closet to be worn only during picture week & during recital.  

If you are new to the studio and your student hasn’t been measured for a costume, please send them to the shop THIS WEEK.  As soon as we have measurements & the costume is paid for, we can order.  At this point, costumes ordered this month aren’t arriving until May so please make this a priority.

OCPA’s New Parent Portal

Hi lovely On Center Families – 

Below are instructions for you to follow to create your Parent Portal (online account). We ask that you act promptly to create your account. In doing so, we will have the ability to re-enroll your student(s) into their currently enrolled classes. As I stated, your artistic staff will be handling enrollment for Spring 2019 for you!

Auto-pay on account is required for all enrolled students.  You still have the option to pay for Spring 2019 Semester in Full (on January 1st) or to pay monthly that will process on the 1st of each month. Auto-pay system allows for you to pay with Bank Account (E-check), Credit Card/Debit (American Express, Discover, Master Card, Visa). Reminder, monthly tuition will process on the 1st of each month. 

Steps to create Parent Portal account:

·  Step #1- click below link to begin setting up your parent portal. Under “First Time Here?”  Click CREATE ACCOUNT and follow instructions to create your family account.

·  You will receive an email to continue setting up your family account

·  Accept all policies & procedures, Waiver & Billing Authorization

·  Step #2- Complete ALL personal family information in your account so we can enroll student(s) in classes. Please make sure to add each enrolled student to your family account. *REMINDER- WE WILL ENROLL THEM!

·  Step #3- Auto pay is REQUIRED on all accounts and must be added after creating account. In your parent portal, you will see a red box (far left column), under the Payments section click on Manage Payment Options. This is where you will add your auto-pay information to your account. You may change auto-pay information at ANYTIME by completing these same steps
