Recital Dates and Info

Good evening,

Let me start first by thanking all of you for your patience through the Recital booking process.  It has been long and I imagine you must be feeling frustrated.  Well, you won’t have to wait any longer.

I am so pleased to announce that On Center’s 2020 Recital will take place May 21 and 22, 2020 at the Hellgate High School Auditorium.

Though we are sad not to be returning to MCT this year, we are so excited about the auditorium at Hellgate!  It’s been newly remodeled and has a much larger seating capacity than the theatre at MCT!

We are making a change to the structure of the recital as well.  Rather than use an entire week with a different performance each night and daytime rehearsals, we will create 1 program that will have 2 opportunities to perform, on Thurs. May 21 and Fri. May 22. There will be a tech/dress rehearsal on Wed. May 20 in the late afternoon/evening for all performers.  We are so excited about each student being able to perform twice this year, rather than only some having the opportunity for a second performance in the Best of Show.

I am aware that this is the week prior to Memorial Day weekend.  I understand there may be conflicts.  It’s also a week that we know we are not competing with any graduations, summer vacations, and oh so much more.  A decision needed to be made, and this is what was decided and we hope will impact the least amount of people

Again, I thank you all so much for your patience.  I am so excited to be finally sharing this information with you!  As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with your questions and concerns, and I thank you all deeply for continuing to enrich your child’s life through the arts.

Best,

Megan Wiltshire

Recital Costumes Reminder

Good afternoon,

This is a reminder to you to please come in this week and sign off on your student’s costume size for the Recital!  I cannot order your student’s costume unless you have signed off on the size, and I will be ordering on Monday of next week.

My goal is to email you our Recital dates and location before the end of this week – thank you again for your patience.

Recital costumes are optional – if you do not wish to purchase one, please let our Office Team know ASAP so that they can remove the charge from your account.

If your student’s name is highlighted on the size sheet, it is because we don’t have their measurements and I need to get those before I can order their costume.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Megan Wiltshire

Montana Dance Arts Association

I want to send you some information about the upcoming MDAA Fall Workshop in Butte, MT. All OCPA students that are 10 and older are invited to attend. The workshop dates are Oct. 18-20.

This is a great opportunity for our students to work alongside dancers from all around the state, while they learn from dance teachers from around the state and the country! There is a variety of classes to choose from, with varying levels for each class. I’ve attached a schedule to this email. We would love to have On Center represented by as many students as possible, though I realize that October 18th is quickly approaching and that this may be asking a lot from our families.

At this time, On Center is not in a position to act as chaperones for the weekend, so for any student that wishes to attend; registration, transportation, and accommodations must be arranged by the families. We will have staff present at the Workshop for the entire weekend, however, so we can provide support during the days and we are happy to help your student choose the appropriate class levels and offer suggestions about classes they should take.

In addition to the master schedule, I have also attached a hotel list, as there are a couple hotels in Butte that have blocks of rooms reserved at a discounted price. If your student is planning to attend, I strongly encourage they reach out to find other students attending so that perhaps they can be in the same hotel, or carpools can be arranged.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. I am here to help!

Best,

Megan Wiltshire
